A Comedy Slam will be held from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. inside the Broadway Theater on Friday, February 28. The event will feature amateur comedians in a judged contest series once a month. Winners of each event will be invited for a feature spot in a larger Comedy Night Live! show that will also feature established comedians. The intention is to help local amateurs develop and refine their skills and to get some side-by-side experience with professionals in the art.
Subsequent events will be on the last Friday of the month. Aspiring locals can reach out to the Broadway Theater to reserve a spot in the lineup for the evening at Us@FriendsoftheBroadway.org. Once you reach out, participants will receive a packet providing more details prior to the event.
Admission to the event is $5 online at friendsofthebroadway.org/shows or $8 at the door. Funds raised will go toward future shows & the Comedy Night Live! event.
